What is Engaging Education:

Engaging Education was launched in 2010 to provide on-going resources for educators interested in engaging all students through a variety of means that promote best practices and the value of students, including differentiated curriculum, progressive technology integration and student-created digital media.

 

Who is Nancye Blair:

With over a decade of experience working with elementary through college students, Nancye Blair served for the last four years as the Technology and Gifted Specialist at McKeel Elementary Academy in Lakeland, Florida, where even the youngest students in her classes excel through the use of digital artwork/media, video creation, and Web 2.0 tools across all curriculum areas.

In 2008, while teaching middle school mathematics and critical thinking, Blair was recognized as Middle School Teacher of the Year at McKeel Academy of Technology and as county-wide Teacher of the Year by the Polk County Charter School Association.  More recently, Blair was recognized as a 2010 PBS Teacher Innovator, a 2012 ISTE Emerging Leader, serves as an ed-tech consultant who is piloting the world’s first 3D document camera program, and can be heard sharing her ideas and resources at conferences across the country.  A peek into her classroom can be found at www.theblairpage.com.
